River Valley Credit Union is excited to offer $1,000 scholarships to help our members pursue their college dreams. This is your chance to stand out and be rewarded for your ideas, creativity, and membership with us. Whether you’re an aspiring filmmaker or a wordsmith, we’ve got options for you to shine. Apply for either our essay or video scholarship, or both!
Scholarship Details:
- Open to high school seniors who are members of River Valley Credit Union in good standing.
- Top 3 essay and video entries will each receive $1,000.
- Winners have the freedom to choose any accredited school for their higher learning journey.
Important Deadlines:
- Submit your application, essay, and/or video by February 7, 2025.
- Winners will be announced by mid-March.
Scholarship Criteria:
Essay Scholarship:
- Write a compelling essay (250 words or less) about how being a member of River Valley Credit Union benefits you and your future.
Video Scholarship:
- Create a 2-minute video sharing why a credit union is better than a bank. Post it on a platform like Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, and include the link in your application.
How to Apply:
- Complete the scholarship application.
- Submit your essay or video link by uploading it below, mailing it in, or emailing it to scholarships@myrivervalleycu.org.
- Make sure everything is sent or postmarked by February 7, 2025!

Scholarship Award:
Winners will receive their scholarship funds after providing a receipt for education-related expenses. You’ll get the check in hand to put toward your academic journey!
Selection Process:
A panel of judges will carefully review and evaluate all entries. Winners will be selected and notified by March.
Certification:
By submitting your application, you confirm that all the information provided is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
